'Gaia and Climate Change- a theology of Gift Events' - Anne Primavesi

A book of tantalising pertinence and potency. It deals eloquently with the dynamic intricacies of nature in her cycles of ceaseless creativity. It identifies humans as integral to the whole life-community of the planet, gifted unconditionally in the womb of ceaseless creativity. It touches the ubiquitous hem of an ineffable force bestowed as gifts and embodied in events, a force that changes quintessentially the image carried in the metaphoric name, God, the source and heart beat of all existence. It restores the words and the ways of Jesus as an essential reference to a non-violent, counter-imperial ecology of love. It carries immense implications for social, economic, political and religious expression and application.

DEMAND AND SUPPLY – THE NEED FOR A HOLISTIC NEW PARADIGM

Breaking stereotypes, altering mindsets, broadening narrowed paradigms can be a beautiful art. To effect deep change at any level of society in a non-violent way requires directness, practicality, erudition and courage. All these attributes meet in a soon to be published teaching text designed to transform the approach to economics in the midst of contemporary dilemmas that are almost overwhelming in scale. It is entitled The Modern Universal Paradigm* and it is written as an act of faith in humanity when we are able to take account and make application of the best in mature religious faith and in diffident serious science.

Australian get the message on usury - Easter Monday 2006

For a divine economy, follow the Old Testament By Ross Gittins
MONDAY COMMENT in the Sydney Morning Herald April 17th 2006

MOST of us assume the solution to problems with the economy lies in coming up with something new. But a group of Christian thinkers in Cambridge believe the answer lies in getting back to the economic model laid out in the Bible.

Don't laugh. This is Easter Monday. And it's a group with more PhDs than you've had haircuts. But you're allowed to be amazed. The things these guys want to do would shock a lot of Christian economists and business people.

They're from a Christian research group, the Jubilee Centre, founded by Michael Schluter. Dr Schluter is better known as the director of the Relationships Foundation.

Launching The Modern Universal Paradigm

I think you'll find the attached of interest, Friends.

It's the one-page preface to a book offering an alternative economics true to the social justice teachings of all the great faith traditions. The book itself is designed to meet the need for a university teaching text, in clear English that can be used worldwide.

For all who seek justice

PREFACE

The Modern Universal Paradigm is an understanding embracing all aspects of life. It expresses a concept of unicity and relatedness. To Muslims, the concept is Tawhid; to Christians, it is Kingdom (or Kin-dom) of God; to Hindus, Buddhists, Jains and Sikhs, it is Dharma; and to Jews, Shalom ─ the precise words do not matter too much because the underlying comprehension and insights are universal.

Money Reform Party - Newsletter, April 2006

Anne Belsey writes:
Dear Money Reformers,

April is shaping up to be a very busy month. Last week I got my nomination papers in for the local elections and this week I received confirmation that they were all in order. Today (07/04/06), in fact, I had a phone call from the local press wanting details about myself and what the Party stands for, which makes a pleasant change from writing letters to them and getting them totally ignored or so badly edited that I wished that they had been totally ignored!
